Essay Studio Privacy Policy Effective September 25, 2026

Writing and accounts Writing is saved on your device. When you sign in with Apple, your essays, assignment instructions, notes, sources, and saved feedback are also stored with Supabase to sync between devices. Apple provides an account identifier and an email address, which may be a private relay address. The sign-in session is stored in the iOS Keychain. Existing device essays are added to your account only when you choose to import them. We use this data to provide sign-in, syncing, subscriptions, and support.

AI sharing Before the first AI request, the app asks permission to send the assignment instructions, topic, selected writing, relevant notes and sources, and preferences needed for that request through Supabase to OpenAI. Research may use OpenAI web search. Your complete saved library is not sent for each request. Withdraw permission in AI privacy & support at any time. Writing and saving remain available without AI. We do not intentionally log AI request text; providers may retain operational and abuse-prevention records under their policies. Avoid submitting sensitive personal information. Subscriptions Apple processes payments; we do not receive payment-card details. RevenueCat receives your Essay Studio account identifier, purchase and subscription records, and app/device information needed to validate purchases and maintain access. We do not send essay text to RevenueCat. We store AI request counts and timestamps to enforce the published allowance. RevenueCat privacy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/ .

Retention and deletion Account writing remains until you delete it or delete your account. Use My account > Delete account to remove cloud essays, the account, and associated AI usage counters. Export important work first. Signing out removes this device's synced account copy; guest writing stays separate. Other devices may retain offline copies until they reconnect. Uninstalling clears local data subject to device backups, but does not delete the cloud account. Provider backups may retain deleted records for a limited period. Apple and RevenueCat may retain transaction records for billing, refunds, fraud prevention, and legal obligations. Contact info@midpointcorp.com for privacy or deletion requests; never send passwords or complete payment details. Deleting the app or account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Service operation Providers may process IP addresses, app/device information, errors, and connection metadata to operate and protect the service, including in countries where they operate. We do not use advertising trackers, sell your writing, or use writing for advertising. Historical TestFlight access uses hashed tester codes, expiry dates, and usage counters until access expires or is revoked.

Students and families Essay Studio is a general writing tool, not a school record system or a service designed for children under 13. Do not create an account or submit personal information if you are under 13. Contact us if you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information so we can investigate and remove it. Follow your school's AI rules. AI output may be inaccurate; verify facts, quotations, and citations.

Changes We update this notice when data practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
